Mitoya is a classical example of a traditional thatched cottage or “kayabuki” in Japanese.
Located in a tranquil rural community with views of rice fields and mountains it’s an ideal place for people who want to cycle and hike in nature.
Viewing mountains from Engawa
Mitoya has the Engawa, a typical element of the traditional Japanese house. It is a strip of flooring outside of the rooms, representing a filter between the inside and the outside. Just sit at Engawa underneath the thatched roof eaves to relax. And feel importance of nature by viewing mountains which change colors each season.
